A little over a month until the Flagger has been a year on the job. Yesterday was interesting, working for an asphalting company. Road equipment, lots of it, and BIG. Spring is bursting out everywhere. Almost full circle to the same place in the cycle of the natural world where I began this work. Yesterday, huckleberry, salmonberry, columbine, hazel, maple, birch, alder, fir, cedar, hemlock, elderberry, wood violet, buttercup, willow, vanilla leaf, youth on age, and many other plants that I have forgotten their names. In a former life, the Flagger was quite the botanist. Many bird songs, but the Flagger is not too knowledegable of bird song. Rain with sunbreaks. Northwest nomenclature.
