This is why The Flagger loves flagging in Thurston County. Early morning, looking west towards the Black Hills. The great American Bald Eagle surveying the surroundings. Yesterday, I was out Hwy 12, on the county's edge, looking north. Same misty, western Washington hills (geologically, these were eskers, remnants of our glacial past.) To the south of me there was an old dilapidated barn, overgrown fields...but..residing in that field were three noble beasts. The great American Bison. Mama, Daddy and Baby. So big, beautiful, and magnificent in their stoic silence.
