The Flagger's 'Day began with the brilliant and somewhat foreboding sunrise. She followed the patch truck all day long through the highways and byways of Thurston County. Filled a few potholes along the way. Talked with a citizen or two. This southwest WA county is typically rural with thousands of acres devoted to farming and ranching. Between showers, the animals were all out grazing. Hundreds of head of cattle and sheep. Herds of horses, blanketed and not. Donkeys, Burros, Goats, Pygmy and Full size, Alpacas, Llamas, Turkeys, Chickens, Pigs and.. the animals that most like Water Over Roadway signs.. a myriad of waterfowl...everywhere. Water, water everywhere. Some places a foot deep on the road.. The boys had fun with that. The water reflects the beauty of the woods, the fields, the complexity of sky. A most beautiful day in the coastal rain forest of Washington state.
