The blue sky, cold morning allowed the tardy solstice sun to make an appearance. The Flagger was in the SE county in one of our beautiful valleys. A place out of time, with a huge cattle ranch, sheltered, well loved by its owners. The Flagger tried to figure out the brand, but then saw the name on the gate. First sun photo was of it creeping over the hills in the east, around 8am. The second sun photo was high noon, directly south, the orb slung low in the sky. The low intense light highlighted an amazing miniature biological world that was nurtured by an old board that once supported a mailbox. The angle of the sun's rays gave this tiny world immense detail and a clarity of a complex Lilliputian world.. The Flagger was both amazed at the detail and the beauty of this tiny environment on an old board, 12"x 6". Where fairies dwell. There is beauty, life and amazement to be found anywhere, if we only open our eyes to it.
