The Flagger had a few hours of work yesterday, following the patch truck, as they repaired some deteriorating road edges, some bad potholes, where the logging trucks had torn up the road, and then headed out to WARC-the Waste and Recovery Center, otherwise known as the Thurston County dump. The dump had reopened, and evidently a bored or busy population, who had been successfully self distancing by removing old trash, chose this day to wend their way dumpwards. Crazy busy..Crazy!! Other than that, The Flagger did have an avalanche of emotions to be back at the yard, only two guys there, in a normally packed and moving operation. We are going to have a difficult time, when we begin to move closer to each other. Well trained, as a population, how do we cross those new borders? As I got into my truck, with Purell and Chlorox wipes, how to sanitize, and what? But...once on the road, The Flagger remembered her job, and began to notice Spring. Indian Plum, Wood Violets, blossoming fruit trees, Skunk Cabbage, Coltsfoot in disturbed areas, Crows dropping little sticks to the road, as they foraged for nest material. Nature, on time and task,as the humans wait to reenter the world.
